One king

I can't believe "One King" hasn't got one single vote (yet)! I voted for Further up but King is probably my 2nd favourite on the disc. I just love the vocals and it has some wonderful keyboard lines... not to mention that clavinet (or whatever it is) solo. And the guitars. It feels like an epic but ...

Hmmm... a name... that's hard. Any suggestions? Thanks for the breathing pointers. This is stuff I was just beginning to understand through trial-and-error. By the way, when you say low G, are you talking about soprano recorders? The lowest note I can take on my soprano is a C (all holes covered). T...

I got myself a recorder...

My local music store is in the process of closing down, so I got this wooden Moeck soprano at a really low price... thing is, I've never played one before, let alone any instrument that you blow into. Only guitar and keyboards I find the fingering bit pretty easy, but blowing and breathing technique...

Hey Sam, if you like Glasshammer, choral music and stuff with a medieval touch, you have check out Gentle Giant. One of the most innovative bands ever; try Free Hand or Octopus. Marvellous stuff!

Hmm no actually I can't spot any distinct similarities between Further up and Oldfield's music I haven't heard all Oldfield albums, but certainly more than half of them, and probably all of the better known ones. What section of Further up are you referring to? It kind of has.. many sections. And wh...

Another very good and perhaps also quite affordable Camel album is Mirage. I prefer it to Moonmadness actually. Another, that is probably 3rd on my Camel fav list, is The Snow Goose. It's quite light instrumental prog. I guess that at 20 I'm among the younger here as well. So how did I discovered pr...

"Tales of the Great Wars" has some incredible vocal parts and is probably my second fav (I voted for Further up...), but some of the guitar playing on Tales just don't do it for me... I don't know if it's Fred's or Lynne's leads, but I don't really like them. Further Up, on the other hand, has a kic...

What's your favourite Lex Rex track?

So what's the best song on this new masterpiece? Even though it is very consistent in terms of quality, you should be able to pick one favourite... at least I can.

hey!

Hey everyone! I kind of new here... both to this forum and to Glass Hammer; I've only heard one album, Lex rex, which I got last week. I'll get some more when my wallet allows :o

Let's hope this board grows. I'll try and spread the word the best I can.

Take care.
