This is excellent news! I was thinking that I would finish my GH collection by picking up Perelandra, On to Evermore and Song of the Dunedain, but perhaps I'll visit the iTunes music store.

I'm really happy for the band. You are a wonderfully unique prog band and deserving of much recognition.

I'm not Alatar, but I loved the Pullman books. Very thought provoking and mature. I wouldn't say there is an anti-Christian slant per se, more like a criticism of an authority structure. Here is a quote from the author: "It isn`t as if I've tried to keep this quiet. Anyone who read a piece I publish...

There's also the Italian prog band PFM. Most of their lyrics are in Italian.

Another recommendation for the Earthsea books, now up to five. You can't go wrong with Susan Cooper's The Dark is Rising series. Rooted in ancient British mythology, the five novels that make up the series are all excellent with my favorites being The Dark is Rising and The Grey King. Among recent b...

For Lent I'm re-reading the Narnia books and enjoying them as much as I did many years ago. Perhaps more so now.

The real question of course is how Mr. Rodgers will look in a tight, white leotard! In all seriousness, I think this is a bad idea. I can understand May and Co. wanting to play again but I wish they'd do so as a new band. There aren't that many who can't be replaced but Freddie is one of them. Outsi...

I remember reading an interview or two in Circus magazine (ok, that dates me!) where Peart went on about his reading of Ayn Rand. I believe several albums of the era were directly influenced by his reading of her work. 2112 comes to mind. It's cool that band members post here. Let me just say as a n...

hehe, I am Catholic actually. I chose Sammael on the spot because he is the name of my Unreal Tournament character and is featured in my favorite episode of Millenium, in the following context: "Sammael is also a symbol of the 'venom of God.' This title refers to his role as executioner of the death...

Greetings all. My first post here on the GH boards. I've only recently been intro'd to the band though I'm an long time prog fan. First concert was the Yes tour for Drama in 1980. Anyhow, I've been reading through some threads and earlier in this one Fred mentioned that the Rush tune "The Trees" was...
