Nashville suggestions?
I have travel reservations to vacation in Nashville Oct. 9th-15th with my wife and mom, and would really like to take them out to hear some local talent aside from the usual downtown scene. Any recommendations where to look? It would be great to see Flo Paris but I haven't seen anything on her site :(

(get some pancakes) and there are some very cool mountain drives I could suggest. Thanks Mr. Mayor - checked out a link for Gatlinburg and the National Park; looks mighty dandy, reminds me of Colorado. Also sent away for some free travel guides. The wife doesn't care about going to Dollywood and th...

I convinced my wife..
..to vacation in Tennessee this spring. I know there's a lot of research ahead but figured I'd lay it on y'all first. I'll have approx 7 days in May so I was figuring on 4days in Nashville then Dollywood for the rest, this way we get good mix of city vs. country. Should I visit Chattanooga? Other th...

Well, I see Vince Gill and Scaggs are playing, that's worth it. I saw some video of Gill this past summer and he was really cookin' on the Telecaster, I didn't know he could play like that. Skaggs is equally capable but it depends on what his set is like. I was a big Steve Miller fan as a teen and s...

I Incidentally, I heard from a friend of mine that Bela Fleck can't read anything but banjo tab. I can see that, but he'd better know his intervals and key sigs to transpose all those notes! Then agin he's so talented I would't be suprised if he jots down a line then commits it to memory on the spo...

Being a guitar player did help me transition to bass especially because I knew what kind of musical style & brand of bass I would be playing. No problem with the pick, my 4003 sounds great!Playing classical guitar developed coordination but I do notice that uncurling the fingers is something I have ...

Well, I did my part to help out and thanks for the speedy delivery! I also sent you, or tried to send you the long version off of myspace but not sure I did it right. I asked a friend for html help and when I told him why, he suggested to stay away from myspace, his girlfriend uses a lesser known sa...

Sure can, although my main instrument is the guitar, I did manage to pick up a georgeous bluebust Ric almost a year ago. Before that, had to beg and borrow from friends. Mr Babb does a very good job simulating the Ric tone with his Yamaha but alas, is just not the same. Now all I need is a small bas...

Sorry to hear about Charlie. If it makes you feel any better, we owned several cats over the years and not one of them lived their full span...or at least not in our company. They either ran away or fell prey to something. I have a buddy who works for animal control (a dog catcher) and he comes acro...
