Snakes And Arrows

The new Rush CD arrived on Monday and It's sounding better every time I hear it :D Not as " in your face " as the last work and the sound quality is much improved . I still wish they would do more instrumental pieces on their albums and reduce the amount of actual songs , I long for the glory days o...

I borrowed the DVD from a relative recently and really enjoyed the show.
Justin Heywood sings Forever Autumn really well and the band and the orchestra compliment each other.
They also found an interesting solution to the Richard Burton question.

Rush are very high on my all time favourite bands and have spent many hours listening to their stuff , having said that I would prefer that they would write like they did back in the 70s / early eighties. More longer musical pieces and less lyrical content. Watching them play the medley section on t...

It's a real shame that Peter and Steve will not be playing but I cannot say I am surprised . Genesis were playing to a different audience during the late eighties / early nineties , you have to ask whether a Genesis comprising the five guys I would have liked to have seen would be financial viable. ...

If Steve Hackett is up for this reunion I for one would be very happy . All my favourite Genesis work has him playing guitar so if he is on board I would hope that the vast majority of the music they play will be from the glory years. Having said that Genesis fans are not all the same and many prefe...

Best track by UFO for me has to be Love To Love from Lights Out.
Strangers In The Night captures it perfectly.
They were good with Schenker but they made good albums without him 8)
Barclay James Harvest - Everyone Is Everybody Else is today's choice for me.

The other day I came across some footage from the Lyceum gig that Genesis did on the Duke tour , it lasted for about 30 minutes and I think it was titled " Duke Suite " or something like that . I found it on Youtube while doing a search on all things Genesis , if you have not seen it check it out . ...

My top 5 Genesis albums:

1. Wind And Wuthering
2. Trick Of The Tail
3. Then There Were Three
4. Duke
5. The Lamb Lies Down On Broadway

Second Out would be in there but I assume we are talking studio work.

Exit Stage ...Left - Rush DVD .
This new DVD set from Rush is a big improvement over the VHS versions , the video quality is marginally better but the DTS 5.1 reveals pieces of the mix that I have never heard before .

That will teach me to read things through .
I will say that I have watched the DVD many times and if I feel the need to hear the gig I would spin the DVD and see it as well , twice the entertainment.

Yes I would welcome a CD of the up and coming show but personally I would be up for a DVD .
If this is not viable I will go with the flow and buy the next best thing :D
