Good, I'm not the only one who feels this way! Interesting GH album in a lot of ways. You have the tongue in cheek concept story, offbeat vocals, and some crunching guitar courtesy of Arjen Lucassen. Easily the biggest gamble in GH history, even moreso than the Middle Earth album. I prefer the direc...

Thanks! I don't know what finally made me decide to join this forum today. I visit the GH site often. I'm also very active on the Dream Theater, Progressiveears, Kansas and Enchant message boards. I'm home and on workers compensation, so I certainly have the time.

I've been inspired to play Shadowlands again. I've had it for 2 weeks, and listened to it several times in the first couple days, but I have not heard it since. I'm quite happy with it, I just had other new music to listen to. I know, shame on me  ! My favorite track is easily 'Run Lisette'. Y...

Chronomotree vocals...

I know, a controversal topic. It took me quite a long time to get used to the lead vocals on this, but they really grew on me. We know he will never sing again with GH (Fred said as much to me at Nearfest), but I do belive the vocals worked well on this. A bit offbeat for sure, but a nice change of ...

This is what is so great about prog, all kinds of different musicians working together, almost like in the jazz world. It causes fans to check out music they might not normally give a chance. By the way, Lucassen plays on an album by the Rocket Scientists, who at times remind me of GH. He also guest...

Watching the Sky?

Where is this 'hidden' track? :?: Its been a while since I listened to this album, I don't remember stumbling across anything not on the tracklist.

Nice review! It must be amazing to discover music from a band you knew nothing about and to buy the entire catalog! I had a similar experience with Tangerine Dream in 1986. Talk about an expensive discovery! One area of disagreement is the mention of drum machines. Am I wrong in thinking they were n...

Hammerheads is the obvious choice, but it seems we could come up with something better. Marillion fans are called 'Freaks', after the song of the same name. I'm drawing blanks as far as a name other than HH.
