suggestions for new album

Post by shanocles » Thu Aug 29, 2013 1:26 am

hey,

is there anybody out there??

no that's not a request for some pink floyd but...

twas listening to some Gentle Giant today and thought of a suggestion for the new album.
if GH could do something that sounded like 'Another Show' off the Interview album??
i love that song and the snare sounds so good.

also my other post hinted at maybe doing some more of the 3 cheers sound - heavy but with classic symph sounds, plenty of guitar in ya face, with a dash of organ - now that's a combo!

anyways ... anyone else got any suggestions or ideas for the new album??
may be fred and steve could sneak preview and reveal a few ideas without giving anything away
prog on!

For whatever my thoughts are worth...

I wouldn't mind hearing something that was a bit more reminiscent of their older work (particularly Chronometree through The Inconsolable Secret). I really enjoy their material that was composed and performed primarily by Steve and Fred alone, although I guess it is unlikely that they will return to this method of making albums. These days they seem to prefer a full band approach, which I also really like, but I don't think we necessarily need another album in the same direction as the previous three. Whatever they do on the next album, I hope it's a little different and unexpected.

But who cares what I think? It will surely be great, as always. They know what they're doing, and they've never made a bad album. Well, as far as I know. I still have to check out 3 Cheers.

We have done three similar albums and the new one will be a bit different. No worries there :)
