TIS Nominated for Alternative Grammy Album of the Year

Post by Bogatyr » Wed Feb 08, 2006 11:29 am

Our good friend Sam Karnick gives mad props to GH and many other great prog bands (among others) in his wish list of Grammy nominees. You can read his article in National Review Online:

This guy is a huge prog fan. Good to see this in a national online publication. He's said many good things about Salem Hill and Glass hammer over the years. And I like many of his choices for the year...
And now for something completly different...

Karnick is the best. Unlike most critics, he knows his material and he has mastered the use of the English Language. The NRO article has some common ground with an article he recently did for Tech Central Station:

If Karnick mentions a group I don't know, I just go out and buy it. He hasn't disappointed me yet.
If I hadn't believed it, I wouldn't have seen it.

I know many people here go on Progressiveears. Check out the 10 page thread that the very mention of the NRO article caused. It seems some prog-snobs objected to the lack of avant-prog, and some liberals had a problem with NRO in general. I threw in a few comments of my own...
