Sad indeed. He had to be pretty young(maybe 60). Never got into his music much, but "Longer" proves what beautiful melodies He did write.

Kinda odd for somone my age (25) but I really enjoyed his music. I would listen to his Greatest Hits albums at least once a week...

I heard he could be a right pain at concerts though- getting up and leaving the stage if people applauded too much, etc..

He definately will be missed though.

Very sorry to hear this. I had read a while back he was battling cancer. His 1981 album the Innocent Age was huge when I was in high school. There are some very nice songs on that record. 56 is too young to go.

It really reinforces the notion that as we start to get older there are physical realities we, as men, have to face just like there are physical realities that women have to face. The exams may be highly unpleasant but the alternative is obviously much worse. I'm bad- I don't want to go to the doctor and get probed like an alien. But, this is a wake up call.
