Everything I know about this kind of stuff I learned from Isaac Asimov :D

He has a couple books of math essays that really makes some of the more esoteric abstract math concepts pretty straightforward.

Sam, you have a pretty good knack for teaching it would seem.

Why, thank you, Fred! :) Glad it makes sense to someone, at least!

So these books - what types of things do they deal with? Uncommon, really abstract stuff? Abstract math is fun! Calculus is really boring for the most part. recommend any particular ones?

In other math news, I got a 5 on my Calc AP test! Yes!!! :D Next year I'm taking Multivariable Calculus, Linear Algebra, and Advanced Topics... Its going to be intense!

The point wasn't to be bowed to - i mean, thanks, but do you understand it? Was my review satisfactory? Want me to explain anything in more detail? (i'll go back and edit if necessary). It was your request, after all.

And, yes, of course, I bow to your superior violin and general music theory skills. But that's aside from the point. ;)

I got a 5 on my Music Theory AP too! I think I was the only one in my entire school, because my friend, the only other person competent in theory, who gets A/A+'s in everything, only got a 4. We were really the only ones with any chance, because the actual class at our school gets kind of bogged down by all the people in it. But I don't mean to brag  ; in fact, to offset the possibility of being perceived as a onetime ( ) braggart, I will admit that I got a 3 on the US history test... :?

You'll probably get your scores pretty soon... I only got mine 2 days ago, and other people around here just got theirs today...

I got a 5 on the sight singing section and I can't even sing! My teacher and I spent a couple of hours the month before the test looking over a lot of the old ones; seeing what will lose you points, etc. For instance, if you sing ONE NOTE with good rhythm, they give you a lot of credit. However, if you sing a lot of right notes with poor rhythm, they will give you less credit. The biggest problem a lot of peole had in the examples was rhythm. To me, thats the easiest part though... I think their reasoning is that most of the people taking theory can't sing, so you should judge them on how musical they can try to sing it, not by how well they can sing it...
