I almost ran into a stop sign contemplating the Big Dipper as the Sickle of the Valar and pondering it's symbolic meaning for Middle Earth.

I was walking. I don't think I could very well gaze at the heavens in oblivious wonder if there was a car roof over my head... Which is probably for the best of the pedestrians...

A friend of mine told me this joke the other day:

Q. Why do nerds get Christmas and Halloween confused?
A. Because OCT 31 is the same as DEC 25.

It's symbolism seems to be working, Morgoth has yet to return and call forth the creatures he told to hide in the deep places of the Earth.
So technically it's the oldest "do not enter" or "stop" sign in the universe. See the poetic symbolism in that near miss with the stop sign?
On a crystal morning I can see the dewdrops falling
Down from a gleaming heaven, I can hear the voices calling
When you comin' home now, son, this world is not for you

Uh... not quite following, but glad to think spacing out has poetic symbolism... ;)

that either calls for a "keep up Mr. Frodo and where you sneakin off to gollum" response or

You're not? well go take 4 hobbits, one dwarf, 1 elf, a couple of Gondorians (is that even a word?), 1 Istari-wizard
and toss the ring into the firey furnace from when it came in the morning.
I think after that you have to say, hmm lemme think, ten hail Varda's on a rosary as pennance or something like that. Read 1 chapter of the Silmarillion daily for a two weeks. Maybe toss in a mornful lament about the Two Trees (and how Telperion is really your favorite) and a few praises to Yavannah for good measure. sound about right? :D
