If INF = infinite, is the following proposition true?

INF + 1 > INF

:-P

But nothing beats "I am lying".

No. Infinity is not a number. There are infiniately many infinities, and you have to specify one. But for the sake of argument, let's say you did specify... C3 as the infinity you're using. You know, the one that comes after C2 and before C4? (no, I don't have a concrete idea of what that means, but I already did my best to explain it in previous posts so I won't repeat here...)

C3 + 1 > C3

is nonsense. Properly,

C3 +1 = C3

But... C3 + C4 = C4....

Let me write a little sofisma then:

INF + 1 = INF
INF + 1 - INF = INF - INF
1 = 0 !!!!!!!

Except you're writing nonsense, because INF is not a number...

GEEK TEST: Guess what is significant about this post! Yes, it's not in my usual color #00502d, but guess why!

Hint #1. Click "quote" (and don't submit the form) to figure out the color # this is.
Hint #2. It's evil.
Hint #3. I'm not going to give you binary unless nobody can get it because it's too easy. :-p

And this is a geek test in two ways: a) either you are geeky enough to figure this all out in the same way I did, or b) you know me, a geek, well enough to guess.

*edit* sorry... i did it on paper... i should never ever ever trust my arithmetic. It has been fixed.

Ok, fine, here's the binary...
001010011010

But you get extra geek points if you figure it out without the binary! (or if you happen to know off the top of your head what that binary number stands for in base ten...

Hey! You edited your post! And the binary you had written was wrong!

But I don't get what 292 has to do with the number of the beast... :banghead:

Yes, the binary was wrong because I tried to do it without a calculator. I was never any good at arithmetic. And it's not 00292. I changed that too. That's right - its 00029A!!!!

If you're not as quick as rox, the binary numer
1010011010 has the base ten equivalent of ....
:twisted:666!
That's right! The number of the Beast!
And in hexadecimal, that's #00029A! Which translates into the color wheel as a deep blue... THE COLOR OF THE BEAST!!!

Therefore, we ought to destroy the ocean, recycling bins, some pairs of jeans, and pens with blue ink.

Now what I think would be really funny - you know how those Seventh Day Adventists think the pope is the Antichrist because the Roman Numeral letters in a title (which isn't actually official, BTW) add up to 666? Well, what if the learned to count in base 36? Then they'd count up to 9 and through the whole Roman alphabet - so they could really add up every single letter, and not just i, v, x, l, d, c, and m!!

I did not know that! :? :banghead:

But I... uh... used the computer calculator to change binary into decimal :P
I do know how to do it, but it takes so loooong
