Brad Marler

I must say, after seeing him in The Way To Evermore, I must ask this question:

Have you ever seen someone who does so not match their voice? :)

Seriously, every time I hear A Perfect Carousel, it brings a tear to my eye, because I just see this Robert Plantesque singer almost weeping over his acoustic guitar (Melodrama, ain't it grand? :P ) and instead, now I see a young John Denver!

That is not meant to be a disparagement of Mr. Marler. In fact, it really doesn't matter what he looks like as long as he sings like that :) You have to understand, I have met the band, granted only once, but I know what everyone looks like (though I do have their voices wrong, see previous post for my comment on Steve and Fred), and I would never have pegged Brad Marler as looking like that.

I am very very lucky I live in the US, but MN is still a long way away from NJ - a 35 hour nonstop bus ride. Or I could just take a plane, if I have enough money. I'm not very rich though. :-p I really really hope I can go to Nearfest though!

But, back to topic, I didn't expect Brad to look like that either. The weird thing about his singing, though, is that he sings with his mouth almost closed, practically through his teeth. It is just very strange. I've never known anyone else who sang like that.

I really think that he somehow works as Hamfast in the GH adventure album. I don't know why. But he seems hobbit-ly enough, even though you would have never guessed it from Chronometree. ;)
Fingolfin beheld the ruin of the Noldor. Filled with wrath and despair he rode forth alone. A madness of rage was upon him; his eyes shone like the eyes of the Valar.
He came alone to Angband and challenged Morgoth to single combat.

And Morgoth came.
