sons of adam, daughters of eve...

Post by DruidsGlass » Fri Jul 02, 2004 4:58 pm

ok, i can't hear it, but it seems that it could be sung during the "than every man - every soul" line...it can fit the rythm...is that where it is?

Here stands Love by an empty grave
That soldier he seeks to save
Is nothing less than every man - every soul
Sons of Adam - daughters of Eve

On the CD, daughter of Eve can or should be heard right as 'every soul' is finishing. It is certainly more pronounced on the DVD, but we skip saying 'sons of adam'. Its a HIGH soprano line sung by one girl on both the CD and the DVD.

...A line which, though Steve says is there, no one has been able to hear yet. For the record. ;)

I'm not sure about g and f#, but the timing is right, and it is a half step walk down. Must be it. It is very high and hard to hear. When you hear Nearfest Live, surely you will all notice the 'lack' of the part, even if you can't hear the part on the other two recordings :)

I don't recall this 'phantom part' being on the mp3s either, Steve ;)

I've got a great idea steve!

In one of your new songs, see if you can float in some lyrics or melodys from previous songs in the background. But make the daughters of eve line really really really easy to make out.

Oh, I get it--like the violin melody from Kansas' "Icarus" shows up in "Icarus II," right?

I HEARD IT! I had to turn my iPod headphones volume to max, but I heard it!! Well, I heard the "daughters of Eve" section, that hangs between the verses - the "sons of Adam" i couldn't catch. So HA! (This is the DVD version I'm talking about, BTW.) Who sings it again, Steve? Was it Bethany? (she looks like she's singing high notes) Or was it Sarah? (it kind of matches the sound of the voice on Centurion...)

It's Sara. She does the REALLY high stuff. I'm not sure anyone sang that line at NEARfest.
