Gryphon: "Red Queen to Gryphon Three" and "Ra

Post by Theremin » Mon Mar 03, 2003 11:29 pm

Yes!!! I just got my Gryphon CD, packadged with Red Queen to Gryphon Three and Raindance. It is so awesome! It sounds like Yes, only in a good way  ! I love medieval music and counterpoint in general and this (these) album(s) provide a perfect sythesis of the old (knumhorns, folk tunes, basoons, counterpoint) and the new (electric guitars, basses, mini-mogs, rock beats). I think I need a few more listens to have it fully sink in, but it is definitely a keeper :D !

PS great recorders too!
I gotta admit that I'm a little bit confused
Sometimes it seems to me as if I'm just being used
Gotta stay awake, gotta try and shake off this creeping malaise
If I don't stand my own ground, how can I find my way out of this maze?

The recorder/snare solo in the third track (I think?) is inhuman. I don't know how they could have ever pulled that off, but they did.
