Gryphon
I think I'm going to buy another Gryphon CD soon... Which one should I get (I already have Red Queen to Gryphon Three and Raindance)?
I gotta admit that I'm a little bit confused
Sometimes it seems to me as if I'm just being used
Gotta stay awake, gotta try and shake off this creeping malaise
If I don't stand my own ground, how can I find my way out of this maze?

Well, I would suggest buying their first two as a single CD. Actually, these are the only two I have, but I quite like them.
The debut album (Gryphon) is mostly either folk or early music. I have a review for it at Ground and Sky ( http://www.progreviews.com/ ). I should warn you that my reviews are never entirely positive, so I hope I don't give the impression that I dislike this album.
Their second album, Midnight Mushrumps is a little more progressive. The twenty minute title track is the definite highlight. Very good music. I also liked Ethelion, which is a combination of two Renaissance dance tunes. I am not necessarily as keen on this album as it strikes me that it was an "in between" album and suffered because they hadn't quite settled on their style. Your milage will probably vary on this point.

Gryphon is good but short.
But they have a LOT of really fun things to play for your recorder. Just a piece of advice: leanr to play it insanely fast on your own before you try to play along with Richard Harvey!

Workings of man crying out from the fires set aflame
By his blindness to see that the warmth of his being
Is promised for his seeing, his reaching so clearly
