NEARFest '04

Post by Bnielsen » Sat May 01, 2004 12:31 pm

With only 69 days left as of this post;
Hey guys, was wondering if anyone besides me and King (Jen Porta) was planning on attending up in Bethlehem this year?

Can't wait to hear the Stawbs live, and looking forward to Univers Zero and Planet X as well.

No, there weren't enough bands that appealed to me this year. RogueFest in Atlanta is the following weekend, I'll be attending that as Greg and I will be covering the festival for his radio station.

No, my parents are still greeatly opposed to any sort of road trip out of this godforsaken town. Although they are even more oppposed to actually taking me anywhere. But, I may be able to convince them to let me take a trip with my friend over the border into Indiana to visit woodwind and brasswind, that place is awesome! :)
I gotta admit that I'm a little bit confused
Sometimes it seems to me as if I'm just being used
Gotta stay awake, gotta try and shake off this creeping malaise
If I don't stand my own ground, how can I find my way out of this maze?

Whoa, check out the names of the drinks BBW is serving for NF goers this year...pretty creative...I think I'd like to try a Moogarita!

1. PUNCH AND JUDY
(Sloe gin, vodka, apple schnapps, grenadine, OJ)
2. MOOGARITA
(tequila, triple sec, lime juice, sour mix)
3. LIQUID HYPERTENSION EXPERIMENT
(flavored coffee, vanilla vodka, cream)

BTW, another little update on the NF weekend. You guys should have seen the guy with the "holy war" t-shirt.

Remember that band Sleepytime that played before GH last year? Well so did a lot of other people and some guy took a plain white tee and drew on it with marker and wrote "holy war NF 2003" and on the back it had a characature of GH playing on one side and of Sleepytime playing on the other side. the GH guys were dressed like angels and the Sleepytime guys had devil horns. Hehehe, Brian did you get to see it? I know there is a post about it up on the PE forum now and that guy might be posting pictures of the shirt for people who were interested I guess in making one too. *shrugs* Just found it interesting.

very cool =)

but I actually thought Sleepytime was a bit less evil than most saw- i stayed for their whole set, and while it most definately gave me the jibblies.... well, maybe the hibbley jibblies, they did had some quite nifty selections later in the set.

Still- for a Sunday morning, they belonged at Ozzfest, not nearfest lol

Well guys, keep an eye on that PE post for when that guy will put his pictures up, it was quite funny, the characatures of Steve and Fred were pretty good they even drew the donkey head on the drummer from Sleepytime.
