Selling like hotcakes...

Post by Theremin » Tue Feb 03, 2004 12:08 am

I was just looking at the Shadowlands page on amazon.com. There are some great reviews up and there is finally album artwork. Also, it is at a sales rank of 3,567! For comparison, here are some other albums that I felt like looking at and their respective sales ranks...

"Dark Side of the Moon" - Pink Floyd (370)
"Feel Euphoria" - Spock's Beard (7,791)
"Unfold the Future" - The Flower Kings (17,796)
"SMPTe" - Transatlantic (6,784)
"Untune the Sky" - Trey Gunn (8,601)
"The Art of the Theremin" - Clara Rockmore (6,083)
"Shadowlands" - Robbie Steiner (198,087)
"Through the Looking Glass" - Shadowlands (397,670)

This is great! Thats an even higher sales rank than "The Art of the Theremin!" You have yet to edge out "Dark Side of the Moon" though. Just give it time...
I gotta admit that I'm a little bit confused
Sometimes it seems to me as if I'm just being used
Gotta stay awake, gotta try and shake off this creeping malaise
If I don't stand my own ground, how can I find my way out of this maze?

Well, if Shadowlands (the GH album, not the Robbie Steiner album nor the group you mentioned ) can manage to stay on the Amazon sales charts for 15 or so years, maybe.......:cuckoo:

For those few who don't get the reference: "Dark Side Of The Moon" spent 741 weeks on the Billboard 200 charts before falling off, nearly 15 years, and is the record for consecutive weeks, which previously was 402 weeks, but I forget who that was :cuckoo:

(there is a bit of geek in me, I just don't flaunt it )

Shadowlands is now up to 1,101. And it's good to see Brian's review up there too.

Sales rank is now past the number of posts on the forum, which means that not only is the forum growing, but also Shdaowlands is gaining in popularity! Hurray! Or Alayambo, as the elves say!

All right now, Theremin, time for you to start writing your review...

I'll get right on it, after I finish my writing workshop, IDs, my Oedipus essay, my 2 weeks of pent-up math homework, and my studies for Science Olympiad... In a week or so, maybe sooner.

Anyway... Some jerk from Chicago posted a 2-star review. They are giving us Illinoisians a bad name! :eyebrow: I guess I will have to post something to counteract that...

Too much "wimp factor", February 23, 2004
**OOO Reviewer: A music fan from Chicago, IL
Sorry guys - I loved Lex Rex and Chronometree, but this one has only a few moments as good. The final straw had to be the "longer than" song. Once I heard that, I immediately removed the CD from my player, lest someone in my building hear it and proceed to kick my ass (I felt kind of like Martin Prince of the Simpsons at that point...). Too bad - so much potential
Look at that, wimp factor my ass. :cursing: Anyway, today the 14th of Januaray, it is up to 536. Shows what (s)he knows.
