The Winter '06 issue of Progression magazine showed in the mailbox today, and what do my eyes behold on page 70 if not a 3-page article on GH. Focusing, natch, on the creation of the TIS album, it also dealt with Steve's hand injury and how that affected the creative process.
I learned some new things. Including, the fact that Steve and Fred were intitially thinking of doing an album shaped like a soundtrack, but ended up centering it on the "Lay Of Lirazel" poem; and that having to type the poem, while in nearly-constant pain from the injury, seemed to take Steve's creative muse in a direction that wasn't expected when the project was getting started; and that working with and scoring for honest-to-God orchestras was something the guys didn't know how to do at first. (Couldn't tell that from listening to the finished product, though.
A very informative article. These fellows don't reveal all their secrets on this forum, do they?
