Long and Long Ago

Post by jonpod » Wed Aug 16, 2006 5:42 am

Hi all! Thought I'd move out of the Introduce Yourself section and make a comment about the best album of all time!

My favourite song off the album has to be Long and Long Ago. It seems to have been overlooked in here!!

Ok, the singing bit at the beginning is maybe the weakest part of it but the instrumental and the ending (especially when such a big deal is made of this theme at the end of Having Caught a Glimpse) are just mindblowing.

I know TIS will be old news soon with the new album and all but any thoughts?

I think it's my favorite song too. I say I think because I also like the High Place and Lirazel, but you can't really compare them very easily because I like them for different reasons. But it's definitely one of my very top GH songs of all time - you're right, that ending is amazing.

Long Long Ago is awesome. I love the flaming Organ solo (with the effects on it) at the end. Thats just crazy.

Yeah, they really *did* have to record that in one take, and dub out the approaching sirens =p
