Oh! DFTR and the cowbell it's anthemic! But taking advantage: who's that guy with the happy cowbell?

It's a goofy skit, but it certainly cracks me up. And come on, it has Christopher Walkin in it! I love that guy, he's so weird!
I haven't heard DFTR-BOC in a long, long time. I guess I never noticed it in a song before. I've never heard that sound in the 70's music I listen to. What bands are you referring to?

Will Ferrell is funny. I guess I would need to see it for it to be funny. I'm just not aware of the whole cowbell thing and why it would be funny, except for the delivery from Ferrell. I assume that is the key.

OK, a real easy one for cowbell in rock, "Mississippi Queen" for starters, even Pink Floyd, prominantly in "Pigs, 3 Different Ones" off of Animals. There are tons of them, especially in most 70's hard rock acts.
And now for something completly different

Loverboy, "Workin' For The Weekend" intro:

Donk donk donk, blatt!

It doesn't have to be a good song, does it?

Also, the Stones and "Honkytonk Woman". Oh, and War's "Low Rider". Lots of good cowbell intros.

Xanadu is excellent. Don't listen to any of the other above listed songs.

Isn't a surround mix on headphones a little oxymoronic? (Just giving you a hard time, I know DVD-A has other sonic benefits beyond just the surround aspect.)

Are you calling me a oxy-MORON??? haha. You're right though, thought about it after I wrote it. Back when I had my surround sound hooked up-it was awesome on that. The bonus version of "America" really rocks too. It does sound good on headphones though tooo.

yanks07 wrote:If you like King's X, Ty's solo albums are a must, especially "Moonflower Lane". Platypus is cool, maybe a bit skitzofrenic. But Jelly Jam is amazing!
So correct, yanks. I'd almost rather see The Jelly Jam than King's X at 3RP - scratch that, I'd definitely rather see The Jelly Jam - but if I make it, it will be to see the Hammer, and the rest is gravy.

For the uninitiated, The Jelly Jam were (are?) Ty Tabor, John Myung, and Rod Morgenstein (of King's X, Dream Theatre, and once upon a time Dixie Dregs, respectively). Platypus was those guys plus Derek Sherinian on keyboards but the musical direction was different.
