Announcer for 3RP Headliner Sunday night
Believe it or not PE has finally paid off for yours truly! I will be announcing the headliner on sunday night-none other than "KING's X"!!!!!How cool is that! I won the contest on PE by picking the headliner. Who would have thought King's X for a prog fesival????? I'm in shock! Can't wait!!!

I will be at the party. Reason for the contract as people that pay the $200+ for the ticket get to meet the band members as their bonus in addition to being in the first 5-10 rows. Last year was very nice.

Howard's description of "metal, grunge, soul & funk" is downright scary.yeshead 777 wrote:Believe it or not PE has finally paid off for yours truly! Oh, I know why they do it- I think it's great and I'm looking forward to it. I just love being able to say that we're contractually obligated to party with King's X (and everyone else of course)widowspeak wrote:Fred,FredProgGH wrote:That's awesome man! Dont be scared widow. They are an awesome, incredibly talented hard rock band. Imagine elements of Black Sabbath and James Gang mixed with Beatlesque vocals, incredibly tight vocals, and production, solid songwriting, and overall incredible musicianship. find a copy of "Faith,Hope, and Love", or "Gretchen goes to Nebraska", and you'll be hooked.

Great signing for 3RP! I was already planning to go, but this was the total deal maker, I've bought my tickets! Windowspeak, King's X at a prog festival seems odd even to me and I am a keyboard nut to boot. But they are an amazing live act. I also strongly reccommend the "Faith Hope Love" album, a desert island disc for me, nearly perfect! Their meoldies are so strong, and they have the best harmony vocals in the business, all in a strong hard rock package.
And now for something completly different

And they have influenced so many other bands that became so much more famous than them while being so much less talented. "Its love" off of FHAL was a moderate hit and video, and "Black Flag" off the next disc got some air play, but thats about it. But hey-what does the general public know, no account for taste.FHAL and Dogman are desert island discs.Ty's solo Cd's and work with Platypus and Jelly Jam are worth checking out too. Ty can hold his own with any guitarist in prog, or most ROCK period.

"More Cowbell"! If I have to explain, it, it wont be funny! Just listen to a half hour of 70's rock, you will hear cowbell ALL THE TIME, and definitely in "Don't Fear the Reaper". It's a goofy skit, but it certainly cracks me up. And come on, it has Christopher Walkin in it! I love that guy, he's so weird!
