Welcome to the forum! Feel right at home, we're nice people. Mostly. ;) :cackle:

A recent fan, huh? So when did you first hear about Glass Hammer?

Lex Live is like lex rex... only... a movie!! lol ;) It's really good, if you like DVDs. It's a little different than the album, different singers, different setup at times because it's live, but it's very good.

Welcome to the boards!

The Lex Live DVD is very well presented. Excellent sound, video and some great extras with the band. Highly recommended!

btw, I voted for the Old Troll. I don't seem to tire of listening to it. "He'll drink your blood for tea, he'll grind your skull and make a stew!"

Those lyrics were written years before the album came out. Probably in 95.

Tell me more Steve! What was the context of their writing?

I seemed to recall that Fred and I talked over the prospect of doing a 'live' album in Bree. I wrote a couple of things, a poem about the Old Forest, and The Old Troll. That's about it.
Some of you may not know that we wrote several new Middle-earth tunes for our trip to Toronto last year. I think there were some good ones. One about "The Fall of the Witch King", and a few others. They were all done in the style of the Prancing Pony music.
That concert was recorded by the way, and if the forum people are interested, its possible it might show up as an iTunes exclusive.
