TMA-2 - Artifact One

Post by Bnielsen » Sat Nov 22, 2008 9:53 pm

I found this to be a really neat album!

Some of my favorite tracks are "Inspiration of the Ancient" and "The Mystic of Evermore".

"Decent" is just creepy! Is it just coincidence that the track would fit perfectly as background music for the old 90's PC game of the same title?

There were some parts that well... dated it (after all, it WAS made in 1996) but it was cool to hear other works from the creative duo behind GH...

I recognized a lot of sounds/tones used in GH albums 'On To Evermore' and 'Perelandra'.

Very cool Steve and Fred! Any chance you'd do another, just for fun?

Hard to say. Steve's got a solo project in the works that probably has a lot of the same electronica influence at the bottom of it but more modern.

Awesome! Well, keep us in the loop!

I had done a few 'techno' songs of my own 5 years ago... I have them posted, if you'd honor me by taking a listen! =p

They are a mix of pre made samples (especially the drums and pads) and melody lines i had done.

they were made in a program called Techno eJay, where you would take the samples, and lay them out on a 16 track grid, pretty neat way to do it.

You will probably want to right-mouse click and download them

My favorite is Track04, where I really started calming down things as far as the constant changes of sections and doing more with them, and the end is almost entirely original stuff I had done.

If you get a few minutes to listen, let me know!

This is the last album I need to finally have every piece of Glass Hammer work, aside from Eric Parker's album, which I will most likely ALSO order! Excited to finish my collection. I'll probably order a Stein with it just to top it off!

Also, is this still happening?

I'm fairly sure that post actually refers to music that ultimately wound up on the Three Cheers album!!

Dang, I should have remembered that. Now that you say that I remember reading about how it HAD been a project of Steve's first... Well, at least that means more money in my wallet (or perhaps one less Stein Mug in the inventory).
