Soundtrack to Narnia

Post by Alatar » Thu Jul 27, 2006 10:12 am

I have just started reading the Narnia Chronicles, and as I usually have music playing in the background while I read I thought it would be fun to have one album that I would play most often for each book. I have a few ideas about which albums might be appropriate, but would like to get feedback here. So, which albums do people think provide the best atmosphere for each album.

I am reading them in Narnian chronological order, so the order will be:

The Magician's Nephew
The Lion, The Witch And The Wardrobe
The Horse and His Boy
Prince Caspian
The Voyage of the Dawn Treader
The Silver Chair
The Last Battle

My early thoughts for albums include "Olias of Sunhillow" and a couple of Glass Hammer albums. The parallels between Chronometree and a wardrobe nobody else believes is magic (at least at first) are very tempting. :D
Five wizards came from the West. One sought knowledge, one power, one conversed with the animals and the other two got into blues

The four piece Genesis albums (Trick and Wind) are the ones I remember from reading Narnia. They will always be my soundtrack...
