On the one hand I'm very excited for Prince Caspian, but on the other I'm a little bummed that apparently A Horse and His Boy is being overlooked. After all, it is in this novel that we find the Hermit!

No mention of Horse and His Boy, hence my inferring that perhaps it won't see the light of a new film. Fred is probably right about the film makers wanting to use the actors while they can.

Horse and his boy is the 6th book too, isn't it? That;s not for a whie.
Ok, I had always assumed they were making all the movies. Has anyone heard differently or something? Because with all these desperate attempts to make meaningful sequels out of single movies, and the popularity of fantasy, why wouldn't they take a fantasy series into a series of movies?

That's the weirdly organized way though... I always thought it was most fun published in the original order, even though Lewis didn't seem to care if someone chronologicized it. I made up a new word. Snap!

That would be really hard to do a movie out of. :-/ It might be better if they didn't even try.

C.S Lewis's famous series of children's stories were published between 1950 and 1956, in the following order:
1. The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe (1950)
2. Prince Caspian(1951)
3. The Voyage of the Dawn Treader (1952)
4. The Silver Chair (1953)
5. The Horse and His Boy (1954)
6. The Magicians Nephew(1955)
7. The Last Battle (1956)
All current editions of the books, however, number them in a slightly different order:
1. The Magicians Nephew
2. The Lion the Witch and the Wardrobe
3. The Horse and His Boy
4. Prince Caspian
5. The Voyage of the Dawn Treader
6. The Silver Chair
7. The Last Battle
----------------------------------------
I prefer the order of publishing..
Mostly because LWW is the book that introduced you in Narnia. And its more fun to find all the little secrets in The Magicians Nephew at the end.. like the tree and the wardrobe.
